Obesity In The Workplace

Obesity rates keep climbing.  The chances are high that someone you know–a love one, friend or coworker–struggles with being overweight or obese.  Colorado boasts the lowest obesity rate in the U.S. with less than 20 percent.  Nearly 1 in 5 adults is obese in the leanest state in the union!

Obesity is a real threat!

• It is directly related to more than 20 diseases, including diabetes, high blood pressure and cardiovascular disease.
• It affects nearly 25 percent of children and adolescents.
• It cost the U.S. $117 billion in 2000.
• It hampers productivity in America’s workforce.
